The Council has been liaising with representatives of DDLETB to activate the basketball court, which is to the front of the Castlemill Education Centre and under DDLETB control.
The equipment required for the activation of the basketball court has been sourced and installed by DDLETB and final arrangements are being made with regard to access and the securing of the basketball court after hours.
The basketball court shall be available for public use during designated hours agreed with DDLETB for a pilot period to the end of 2022 when the arrangements will be reviewed.
Once the details of the access arrangements and designated hours are finalised the Council shall issue communications on the availability of the court to the public.
This has been a long requested development by residents and businesses in Castlemills so I welcome the progress that has been made and look forward to the court being made available to the public.
